SOLi – Southern Organic Livestock Inc.

The demands for organic beef and lamb continue to outstrip supply, in both domestic and export markets.

Farmers in South Eastern Australia are well placed to benefit from this demand. Not only do we have some of Australia’s best livestock growing conditions, but there are now excellent certified organic processing and support systems in operation.

Organic farming works to optimize natural processes that produce healthy soil, healthy plants, and healthy animals. Food certified as “Organic” is backed by certification and accreditation programs that operate in Australia and overseas.

Southern Organic Livestock Inc - formerly Gippsland Organic Livestock Inc (GOLi), was established in 2000 to help develop the organic livestock industry, with support from the Commonwealth, Victorian and Local Governments. The committee consists of organic livestock producers from across the region working in a voluntary capacity to serve the needs of their fellow organic livestock producers.

Since its inception, SOLi has worked towards establishing Victoria and South Eastern Australia as a major producer of quality organic meat and meat products.

  • Coordination of markets
  • Establishment of a grower data base
  • Supply chain activities
  • Technical support for organic farmers
